Duane Grzyb, owner of Class 1 Zone 2 Engineering Inc. is an Alberta born, Alberta educated APEGA registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) since 1996. He has over 25 years of Alberta centric progressive brownfield and greenfield Electrical Engineering experience. He has formed extensive successful working relationships with clients, owners, manufacturers, operations and contractors to engineer, install, troubleshoot, program and as-build a wide variety of electrical power, instrument and control systems. Expertise includes mining, oilsands extraction, petroleum upgrading, petroleum refining, chemical plants, pulp and paper, sawmills, water treatment facilities, manufacturing, steel recycling, pipeline, gas / coal / diesel / biomass / wind / solar / hydro power generation, electronic vehicular traffic management systems, indoor/outdoor lighting, electrical substations, electrical transmission, and district heating.
One particular special skill that he has developed while working in these varied areas is the application of Area Classification. The study of explosive/flammable gases, liquids and solids have been a long-time favorite topic. He has assisted multiple clients with the identification, analysis, and preparation of Area Classification reports and drawings.
